Concerns: Extraordinary meeting of the chairpersons of the Committees for European affairs (Article 1.4 COSAC Rules of procedure) (
As agreed upon during the XXVth COSAC in Brussels, we are pleased to invite you to an extraordinary meeting of the chairpersons of the Committees for European affairs of the Parliaments of the Member States of the European Union, the European Parliament and the Candidate countries which will be held in Brussels on Saturday 1 December 2001 from 10 a.m. till 1 p.m., in the hemicycle of the House of representatives. This meeting will be preceded by a dinner on Friday 30 November at
This extraordinary meeting will take place two weeks before the European Council of Laken. It will enable us to be informed of and to discuss the report by Messrs Pierre Chevalier, Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Affairs of the House and Philippe Mahoux (the undersigned), senator and Chairman of the Federal Advisory Committee on European Affairs who were charged, by the Belgian Prime Minister, to draft this report in the perspective of the Laken European Council and this within the framework of the debate on the future of Europe.
We already send you a registration form for the Conference and a hotel reservation form. A final program and more detailed information will be addressed to you at the beginning of November.
